who are we to print?
1947
Ilias Tagas along with Epaminondas Voyatzi, start a small printing company, despite the struggles after World War II and the Civil War. It is located on 23 Zinonos Street at Omonoia Square and they name it after themselves. They start off with two cases of typographic letterpressing elements, and an upright printing press (of which is kept till today as a museum item).
1958
The company moves to a new space on Kritis Street near Plateia Vathis, where it continues to specialize in typography. Typographers are considered artists, as the art of typography is letterpressing.
1970
Ilias Tagas becomes the sole owner of the company. His dedication, determination and motivation is awarded through his hard work, creating life long clients, but also life long relations. Through this, he is able to invest in a small offset printing press, moving the company in a different and modernized direction.
1985
George Tagas, son of Ilias Tagas, becomes the CEO of the company. He visions the growth of the company with the expansion in offset print, and specifically with brochures and custom builds.
1992
The company is awarded with the Arch of Europe in Madrid. It is a worldwide organization that awards companies for their leadership, quality, technology and excellence.
2002
The company becomes one of the first companies to change their pre-press from film screening to computer to plate (CTP). This helps the company increase its offset printing production.
2011
Ownership moves down the line to Ilias Tagas, grandson of the founder. The company re-brands to Ideas Print and moves to a single space vertical unit in Peristeri, which is where the company is still based today.
2014
Suzanne Tagas, sister of today's owner, joins the family business, and helps it expand into different commercial fields. The company also promotes its digital print orientation.
2018
The company invests in high end digital print with Xerox Versant, and creates a creative design department.
today
Outstanding quality, consistency and immediacy are still the company's chief principles. The company however, never seizes to keep up with the new printing technologies and design trends, and most importantly using environmental friendly techniques.
